Compassionate care for every stage of growing up
Laurel Creek Counseling is a licensed behavioral health provider delivering high-quality, compassionate services to children, youth and young adults. With deep roots in Central Pennsylvania, we understand the challenges families here face, and we provide personalized, evidence-based care that supports healthy development and emotional well-being.
Every treatment plan is built around the individual child and family.
Families are partners in the process, so change lasts at home too.
A local provider invested in the health of our own community.
Proven, research-backed approaches that lead to real outcomes.
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) is the service we provide, for young people ages 0–21 and their families. Everything below is part of IBHS, shaped to each child's treatment plan.
Targeted interventions for behavioral challenges at home and in the classroom, coordinated with teachers and school staff.
Children & YouthParents and caregivers are part of the work, building communication and practical tools to support their child day to day.
FamiliesFocused work with your child on emotional regulation, coping skills and personal growth, delivered as part of their IBHS plan.
Ages 0–21Our team works in a trauma-informed way, so care feels safe and supportive for young people who have experienced trauma or adverse life events.
Ages 0–21Secure virtual sessions can be part of a child's IBHS plan when meeting in person isn't practical.
Ages 0–21As part of IBHS, we build safety plans with families, work toward overall stability at home and school, and connect families to ongoing supports.
We are not a crisis response service. If your child is in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) is Pennsylvania's program for children, youth and young adults from birth to age 21 who need behavioral health support beyond a weekly office visit.
Instead of asking your family to come to us, an IBHS team works with your child in the places where challenges actually show up. Each child gets a written treatment plan, and parents and caregivers are involved at every step.
A master's-level clinician who assesses your child, designs the treatment plan, and guides the rest of the team and your family on strategies that work.
A master's-level therapist who meets with your child and family for therapy sessions at home or in the community, focusing on emotions, relationships and coping.
A trained staff member who works side by side with your child at home, at school or in the community, putting the treatment plan into practice day to day.
You don't need to have everything figured out. Our intake team will walk you through each step.
Tell us a little about who needs support. We'll explain options and answer questions.
IBHS starts with an evaluation and a written order from a licensed clinician. We'll help you understand how to get one.
We create an individualized treatment plan with your family, around your child's goals.
Your team starts working with your child at home, at school or in the community.
IBHS requires a written order from a licensed clinician, such as a physician or psychologist, after an evaluation. If you don't have one yet, call us. We'll explain the process and help you take the next step.
Parents and guardians can reach out directly. We also welcome referrals from pediatricians, schools, county agencies and other providers.
We serve children, youth and young adults from birth through age 21.
IBHS happens where your child lives, learns and plays: at home, at school and in the community. Telehealth may be part of the plan when it fits.
IBHS is covered by Medical Assistance. We don't accept private insurance for these services.
In many situations, no. Children can qualify for Medical Assistance for behavioral health services based on a diagnosis rather than family income. Call us and we'll explain how it works for your child.
Our team is trained to work with children, teens and young adults and the developmental needs of each stage.
No one-size-fits-all. Every client receives a plan tailored to their circumstances and goals.
Serving Central Pennsylvania for over two decades, we're invested in the well-being of our neighbors.
The sooner support starts, the better the outcomes. We help families address challenges before they escalate.
